Well, all I knew about was Wikipedia - although I knew that Wiki's are becoming increasing popular! I can see why - they hold a wealth of information!

I really like this paragraph:
A Wiki is a quick-to-build, easy-to-edit website on which all information can be edited, changed, or rewritten by the users or members of the site. It is an incredibly useful tool for collaborative writing, pooling knowledge or exchanging ideas, especially on a subject that changes or needs updating frequently.

The firewalls created some problems for me - but with the help of my friendly Web 2.0 expert, I was able to create this image on Trading Card maker.

What I liked best able the technology this week is how Flickr gives you the chance to discover and share some beautiful photos of nature and our world!
Combined with the technology advances of iTunes, Powerpoint, etc Web 2.0 is fabulous.

Well, now that we are completing the lessons in our own time - it will be a bit more a challenge for my owner. Rollyo was not something that we knew about and so the whole thing was new to us!
But now we can see the potential of it, and I have added my searchroll to my blog, so that I can access it quickly and easily. Look to the right and you will see my bright red Rollyo icon! You can't miss it.
As a cat, I can't really see the interest of a blog about Cataloguing Resources - but hey maybe my owner wants to catalogue me! My own Rollyo would be about mice! You booklovers enjoying reading about RDA - and it's not an the "recommended daily intake", but Resource Description and Access.

Library Thing

Well, a friend set me on the right track with LibraryThing - it's pretty cool once you know what you are doing!
Good to have the next task completed!

I'm just hoping that my owner doesn't want to take me there - I've recently read a book about a little black and white cat getting seasick and lost on a ferry and just wanting to go home!

Image Generators

Well Lesson 3 with the Image Generators was really fun, even though at first I was a bit unsure - it turned out to be quite easy!

I ended up having a look at three different ones and I discovered that on http://www.bbc.co.uk/shropshire/features/christmas/name_generator.shtml
my name MiffyCat as Santa's little helper becomes Giggley - what a laugh!
I know that means I must be a nice cheery cat!

On http://www.celticxstitch.ie/cgi-bin/stitches.cgi I was able to create a cross-stitch pattern in Celtic lettering or alphabet as my owner loves all things Irish!

I like chocolate so on:http://www.glassgiant.com/chocolate_bar/ I was able to create a personalised chocolate bar with my own name Miffycat! I couldn't resist taking a bite out of the corner first! Remember my owners made me a chocolate cake for my very first birthday!

Places & birdbaths

So while I have been away, none of you have made any guesses about where my picture is - fancy that! Come on, give it a go!

I started this post a long time ago, but I have been sick and very busy at work - so I had better push on with the lessons - if I want to get it all completed in time...

My owners have a home made bird bath at my place - it's really a saucer for a pot plant - and it's been raining so much that it's filled to the brim! Roll on Springtime! That will give me some spring in my four paws!

There is one special bird that comes to wash in this bird bath every morning - splashing his feathers round and having fun! I like to watch him - but that is as far as it goes! I am a cat that does NOT catch birds! The bird knows this and is not frightened of me!

Better get on with my work .... MEOW for now!

I have just noticed that one of my news feeds has an error.

Has any one got any ideas or help that they can offer?
I have already deleted it and have added it again - with the same result.

Interestingly, none of the other news feeds I have set up are displying this error.
I have even got another news feed loaded from the same site, and that one is not displaying as an error.

Please do let me know if you can offer any help as I want to go back to playing with my ball of wool - (i.e. work)!

Completed successfully (I hope!) It took longer than I thought it would but I'm hoping that I have learnt the basics!

It has been really good to learn about RSS and set up some of my own feeds about topics that I am interested in - I sense that I may have left some clues as to to who I am through some of my news feeds.

(Who cares really, when I am a golden-eyed ginger and white cat, with a wide-variety of interests!)

Yes, seriously that's all that matters.

I can see the advantages of using RSS feeds in the workplace, as it brings "relevant information" straight to your inbox - without having to trawl through loads of websites that may or may not be relevant to you. They would also eliminate the need to set up a long list of favourites - HURRAY!

Libraries also regularly use RSS feeds to let there customers know of the types of material that would fit their profile - modern current awareness...
Yes this Cat is a bookworm - pretty neat for a very special cat, that is named after the most famous rabbit in children's books!

ABBA fan

I have had only one suggestion of Amsterdam - but no it is not there!

I went with my family to see Mamma Mia last night!
It was a great fun film and I would recommend it.

Ever seen a cat dancing to ABBA music? Well, I did!

Marching ahead with Lesson 2

I am going to attempt Lesson 2 today - I've heard that it is the hardest week of all!
(That's what everyone says...)

I'm like a Puss-in-Boots today, yes all four of my paws will be in my marching boots - 1, 2, 3, 4...

When I was a much younger kitten - I used to dream about marching regularly - I don't know what it was that I liked about it - meow - but my Grandmother Cat took me to see some marching cats and my imagination took of from there I guess...

Ever seen a Miffy cat with her marching boots on ... all four of them ... 1, 2, 3 4....

Roll on Lesson 2- (and I'll be asking for help if I need it.)

I've had a comment asking where the photo on my blog is - well I've decided you have to guess - well done to those who get it right the first time!

(The more specific the information the better!) Have fun!

Now about me - as a fun cat I like to have some fun to show my family sometimes.
Once when I was younger I wound nearly a whole ball of wool, around and around and in and out of the chairs around the table. What fun! It was quite an artistic looking piece of work - I was very tired afterwards!

When my family got home I was waiting proudly to show them - they couldn't believe all the trouble I had gone to - I got some extra tea that night!

Remember have fun guessing where I am...

I thougt that it was about time that I posted again so that I remember what to do...
(Yes, I have not started Lesson 2 yet ... but so many people have fancy profiles and pictures - I haven't got any of that (YET) so you know nothing about me.)

I am a ginger cat and I'm female which is pretty rare! I've got golden eyes - and my owners named me after Miffy the Rabbit in the children's books. (I've got a black and white mate called Theo after the boy on the Cosby show... I tolerate him!

I like a little bit of chocolate and cheese. When I turned one, my owners made me a chocolate cake - yum! I'm a very special cat, must be because I was "free to a good home!"

So that's me!

Blogging

This is the first time that I have set up a Blog. It's really exciting! It was a lot easier than I thought it would be, and tonnes more fun!

I'm looking forward to reading other people's posts to give me ideas about what to type about...I've never even read any before. (Well only in book form).

It will be fabulous to learn about Web 2.0, because at the moment it's all so new.
I'm sure that we will all learn heaps, and that it will be useful at work.

Anyone a Narnia Fan? I've seen Prince Caspian - but I didn't see the Lion, the witch and the wardrobe -- and I'm sure it would have been better on the big screen.
